Our nanny has it installed unless she is off for several days at a time. She is single and said no one ever rider in her back seat but the children anyway.

Only get the Clicktight if you're going to leave it in the nanny's car - while it is super easy to install and remove, it's extremely heavy and bulky, which makes frequent moves inconvenient. On the other hand, the ease of installation makes it somewhat ideal for frequent moves, because it's really hard to Eff up installation.

Before you buy, try and have an honest conversation with what your nanny is comfortable with. Will it fit in her trunk if she takes it out to transport other people or items?

I lucked out because she agreed to keep it installed in her car as she never has passengers that would need to sit there. She uses the Chicco for infants still, but the one that handles up to 30 lbs. Easy install.

Me again. I have a Graco and was able to use it for my charge when she was six months old and for another charge (different family) who was 2.5. Great adjustable car seat.

We got two Clicktights (twins) for our nanny to use in her car. They are super easy to install, although she usually leaves them in her car unless she needs the back seat.

If you don't trust her to carefully read the car seat manual and her vehicle manual and to install the carseat as safely as you would, then you shouldn't trust her to drive them. Ask your nanny about carseats and what she prefers and see if you find her answer reassuring.

You will never know if she keeps it installed or not, so I agree -- go with the easiest to install properly. All seats meet safety guidelines.

As a Nanny I always kept the kids seats in my car. I very rarely used the back seat.

Having said that, not knowing your Nannys personal situation I would also suggest the click tight.

Our nanny has been working with us for a few months and we haven't had her drive DS yet. He's so little I am not sure he would get value from story time etc, I was initially worried about nanny driving him on bad weather this winter (not a problem apparently), and I wanted to keep him from getting sick. I know she's going to need to drive him eventually-- and I'm sure she wants to get out of the house. We told her in the interview that we probably would let her drive starting around a year, so he won't need an infant car seat, and of course we are happy to buy a second car seat for her use, but is it expected that she will leave it installed in her own car? That seems like an imposition, but I'm not thrilled about the idea of it being constantly moved, because it increased the chance of human error/ it not being installed properly.

How do others handle? Is there a particular car seat that is best for this situation? I'd rather not spend $1000 on multiple car seats, but I don't want to go too low end if it means it's more likely to be installed incorrectly. And yes, we will ask our nanny her preference, but Inwoukd like to have some solutions in mind
