OMG- disgusting. I would tell them it's a 1 time thing, but you cannot do it again, so ask them what is the plan. Call Dad to fix?
Or like cabbies, charge $75 vomit cleanup fee.

Animals are different than kids. this is disgusting.

OP, just consider yourself lucky that it was vomit and not doggy diarrhea. Because that is THE WORST.

I would have called the guy up, said his dog was really sick and should be taken to the vet. When he came home, I'd show him the vomit and make an effort to clean it up.

I would probably clean it up, because it's just a nice thing to do. I would feel weird ignoring dog puke all day, because it wasn't on my list of responsibilities.

If the dog was sick a lot, I'd be less than excited.

It was rough. I nearly threw up myself. I don't know why I find animal vomit worse than human, it really doesn't even smell as bad. Although the baby was napping, I decided not to just leave it. My idea of calling DB was a little extreme, I guess I was just annoyed at time. I let them know and they were grateful.

Yeah you did good cleaning it up. Make sure you mention it to them and remind them that they are out of paper towels...!

If it happens more than once in a blue moon, and you don't want to deal with it, you need to talk to the parents about it.

You did good to clean it up. That used to happen to me at ( puke and pee) work and I would clean it up because it's unsanitary for both you and the child. Hope u used gloves and washed your hands good. Wouldn't want to catch something.

I cleaned it up the best I could. It got a little meshed into the carpet though. Used baby wipes and some all purpose cleaner. Wish they had Lysol or something.

You would look petty if you let vomit sit out with a child in the home. Your job is to look out for the safety and well being of your charges. This falls under that. You agreed to take a job with a dog in the home. You run this risk. If a light bulb shattered would you call the dad to come home and sweep it up?

Now, my answer would be different if the vomit happened 5 minutes before the parents were to come home. You could busy yourself in another room and let the parents discover it.

Use baby wipes. Then empty the garbage you threw them in. When my dog pukes, it's never very much and doesn't smell a ton. I think leaving it AND calling someone to come home are both unacceptable.

Another problem, they have been out of paper towels all week. I don't want to use a towel. Baby wipes?

I am sure they would appreciate it if you handled it. I would clean it up and vomit myself, to be sure, but I would also let them know... You never know when you might need the goodwill...

Am I responsible for cleaning this up? I can do human vomit but really cannot do dog vomit. I get out at 3:30 but DB works 10 minutes away and runs his own business. Is it reasonable to ask him to come home early or wait for him?
