my nanny was upset I came home early from the airport one afternoon (from a 2 day west coast trip) and took a nap.
she was upset because if I was in the house then she believes she should leave and get paid through 5pm.

star employee mentality right there....

so yes, I complained and seriously questioned her judgement and if she even wanted to be working with us.

We only complain about our nanny when she complains about us:

Oh, it is raining outside, I won't be taking the toddler out to class.
Oh, my friend makes $50/week off gas money, I want that too.
Oh, I signed up for yoga so you leave work early so I can leave early to get to yoga.
Oh, the kids didn't eat breakfast because you have toys on the main floor and they'd rather do that, move all the toys to the basement.

His least attractive quality is that he blames others for everything. She's convenient if something is missing/broken, or a child misbehaves. It's so egregious that I don't even care to hear it when he has a genuine, reasonable issue with something she's done.

Have a feeling this is common with DB's. Am pretty sure mine complains about me a lot and that it influences MB. I always notice a change in her the day after DB has been working from home and so been around me and seen how I worked. I work hard of course but he most likely disagrees. I also know he blamed me for 'hiding' the doorkey (spare key which HE lost) as my charge told me.

I complaints a lot about my MB to my husband. Daily non stop.

My MB is super crazy. I just ignore all her complaints and demand. My focus is on my charge.

Rarely, but I've had nannies for a long time now. If she does something annoying/wrong/whatever, I try to take the time to think through whether my reaction is reasonable. If not, I let it go, if yes, I figure out how to address it with her.

Honestly? I find something to complain about every time I hear my child say how much he loves his nanny or cries when she leaves. I am not proud of this and I do work on it but that is the truth. Whenever I feel threatened, I find some stupid thing to complain about (like she didn't fold son's clothes correctly or forgot to lock the stroller wheels).

only when she doesn't show up for work or puts the car seat in wrong. otherwise am busy.

How would you know these things?

My complaints are more of the "Where the hell is my umbrella?" "Nanny put everything in the coat closet."

So I'm frustrated but it's only like once a month and it's always super reasonable things.
