Giving her a half or full day off would be super appreciated also, especially if it's the Friday or Monday closest to her bday so she can have a nice long weekend.

If it's an older nanny, a gift card to Target would be nice. Maybe a batch of homemade cookies in a nice container with a card, and a full or half day off. Good luck! I'm sure whatever you do, it'll be appreciated.

While any gift is appreciated, I am on older nanny who has never set foot in a Target in my life and probably never will. Please no Target gift certificates. Amazon is good for everyone!

Over the years I've been given a camera, gift card to West Elm, magazine subscription and flowers, small trinkets, books, gift card for my favorite spa, and cash. I've loved them all! Cash is probably my favorite right now because I'm saving to do some long term travel and will be getting rid of most (if not all) my belongings so I don't need more "stuff."

Movie tickets, Coffee shop gift cards or some unexpected time off.

You sound like a very thoughtful employer.

I think all these ideas are great. But all apply to a nanny of any age. An older nanny could love Sephora or Dick's Sporting Goods.

Generally I give a half or full day off, a nice gift or flowers, and a gift certificate that I know she'll use (like for Amazon or a favorite spa or something along those lines.) Total expenditure, not counting the time off, is usually around $100 or so.

I have been given everything from a nice handwritten note and some grocery store flowers to a $150 gift card for a nice dinner out. The only way to screw up is to not do anything.

Our nanny's birthday is coming up. I am FTM and she's been with us a few months.

What do you generally get your nanny for his/her birthday?
