My point is that it was obvious you were not a mother, as mothers do this all the time. Manage a house and kids, clean up, educate and guide them. Nothing in this job description is that hard and $1600 plus free housing sounds like a great deal.

Oh please. No mother manages to provide quality care for 3 young kids, care for two dogs and do deep cleaning at the same time. Zero. Many moms may manage a clean house with all of that going on but they are either doing as PPs stated and cleaning while kids are watching tv for hours or their kids are in part-day school or they are working on it after kids are in bed. If nannies dump the kids in front of a tv, they are a bad nanny. We don't get to decide to put the kids in school and if we are up cleaning your toilets after the kids are in bed then you need to be paying overtime. Want to bet these parents are NOT open to compensating fairly for additional hours?

Please describe for me your magical mommy technique for getting all of this done simultaneously, with not crutches.

Maybe one day, when women stop trying to one up each other, and we see value in ALL our work, including domestic work, we'll actually get the men to value us too. This job IS a lot of work, for a mother, father, or anyone else. For parent of the household, it is a labor of love that they chose. Am employee deserves to be compensated according to the demands of the job. $8/hour for 3 kids, dogs, heavy cleaning, and meal prep is not a "great deal" and you know it.

It doesn't take a mother to realize how much work this is for anyone. These parents are lazy. Don't have animals and kids if u r unable to care for them period. They can relieve the load by making their weekly meals and cleaning their own home and laundry. I worked for a full time working mom who kept an organized tidy and pretty great house( pottery Barn standard).Dad did laundry and mom handled meals. Meals were made in batches even omelette and oatmeal, sauces and vegies..and chicken potatoes. All great food. As for cleaning they had someone come in once a month to do it. Kids played downstairs and We all maintained a little bit but the house was always clean.

I don't either. I don't know anyone with four kids under 10 who has a VERY clean house.

Abusive and underestimated for anyone. why do you have a family,house if you dont want to take care of ? besides $400.00 is a joke. you are offering room at your house in order to have 24/7 coverage. Slavery was abolished a long time ago.

It's less than $8/hour for a hell of a lot of work and the "privilege" to live at work with your boss. It absolutely IS terrible.

Its $1600 a month with room and board. That is not a terrible offer but $2000 seems more reasonable.

They are hoping a desperate illegal immigrants will get this job. How lazy can people be to dump all their household chores on a nanny for $400/week. Just hire a separate housekeeper.
