Then why are you using them? The agency also has to pay its staff, and "guarantee" you to the family and the hotel -- more liability for them, whatever disclosures and waivers they claim they have. They're basically charging you $5 off your regular $25/hr fee to do the legwork for you.

But if you can find $25/hr work easily, why wouldn't you? There has to be some advantage in this for you, like not having to do the introduction, discuss the fee, etc.. If there's no advantage, then, no, don't use them.

I d be happy with that rate considering the agency is actually working for you. I am in DC and my agency charges $24/h and pays me $16....I can't complain with this. May I know what is the name of your agency? I d be happy to work for an agency specializing in hotel sitting plus the pay is great. I am in DC by the way.

Has anyone done this before? I registered with an agency and they charge the client $30/hr but I will only get $20/hr of that. Is this normal? I'm in NYC. What is the usual agency commission for hotel babysitting? I just want to know if this is normal or if I should just find a different agency. On my own I can make $25/hr babysitting for my regular families. Just wondering if this agency is shady or if all others will take such a big commission.
