Thank you for the ideas! I like the cooked spaghetti one. I had gotten dry colored pasta for baby to touch/feel - then worried it might be choking hazard.
I also saw a fingerpaint one that you do in a plastic bag on a table - less mess. Or, the tub.

Cook some spaghetti and put into a big plastic tub. Let baby play with it.
Cut up squares of different fabrics (corduroy, satin, fleece, shaggy wool, cotton etc and put into a wipes or Kleenex dispenser or a Tupperware). Let baby pull them out.
Mine loves standing and playing with the metal wonder screen (we have them on the inside of a couple bay windows)
You can make homemade salt dough
Homemade moon sand (cornstarch and conditioner but probably for older babies)

I guess of you have a 1yo that constantly puts his hands in his mouth maybe not, but i did it plenty of times and my kid loved it. She would play in it for about 20 mins at a time.
How about whipped cream??
More child(AND) Nanny-friendly suggestion.

Plus OP says hes 1, is he 12 mos or 23 mos....that makes a difference too. My shaving cream play started around 14-15 mos.

I guess of you have a 1yo that constantly puts his hands in his mouth maybe not, but i did it plenty of times and my kid loved it. She would play in it for about 20 mins at a time.

I don't think my nanny is very creative in coming up with indoor activities, and since it's cold out - looking for ideas of sensory play for my 1 year old. Anyone have something easy that they like. Nannies too!
