Lol ... I don't think many research funding organizations have invested in developing psychometrically reliable and valid nanny motivation tests. I hate to be snarky, but some things can't be easily empirically measured.

Hiring a nanny is mostly about what you value in a nanny, how you feel about an individual, and making sure you build a 1-2 month trial period into the contract because it will fast become obvious if it's not a good fit.

I really hope your initial comment is a joke. For your sake.

Sounds ridiculous.

No.

I would feel absurd asking candidates to do that and I would expect them to be offended (as I would) by the request. It would not set up the kind of relationship I want with our nanny/ies at all.

Now that would be awesome

Lol. If it makes you feel better, I told a doctor I have no pulse on the inside of my wrist. He insisted that wasn't possible and grabbed my wrist. Six seconds later he said, "Holy shit, I think you're dead."

Probably not, but I would need to know more about the service and how it works in order to make a decision.

Maybe. But it would have to have some kind of proven track record. And I think Care.com is already charging applicants way too much for their service, so I wouldn't want another tool that they have to pay for.

Might sound interesting if you were also evaluating potential employers as well.

Hi All Moms and Dads,

I am conducting some research and would like your feedback on:

Would you subscribe to or utilize an online service which conducted personality and motivation testing of nanny candidates as a pre-screening measurement and requisite for person's posting their availability to work as a nanny?

Many Thanks
