No blankets or anything else should be in the plack n play with him, this would bother me. And if he has a helmet on and youre concerned about his airway make it clear they have to lay him down to sleep.
Op here: the blanket was rolled up folded into his tummy . It was a huge blanket.

For a developmentally normal 9 month old, sleeping sitting up would not be a big deal at all. Many get into the seated positions themselves and fall asleep that way on occasion, then later lay down.
The real question here is whether your son's health or developmental issues require him to be in a certain position when sleeping. In that case, your question should be, "my son needs to sleep in a certain position for health reasons, is it a problem that I found him sleeping in a different position at daycare?"
In which case, it depends. If you have communicated the issue to the daycare, then yes, it's a problem. If it's a true danger to your child, then get a note from your doctor so they know it's serious.
The leaky diaper would bother me, and if they sat him in the pack in play instead of laying him down (I think you said in another thread that he can't get into a seated position on his own?) then yes that would bother me.
You're not getting much support because you're not offering the critical details upfront.
Op here: I didn't realize this wouldn't be an issue for a baby who is reaching his milestones. I did ask the childcare provider to put him on his tummy a few times.

Omg this!! And in a helmet which means it's orobably very hard for him to move his head to the side.
I think sitting up is fine. The rolled up blanket is a Nono, nothing in the crib for sleeping and th leaking diaper is a no no as well.

Anonymous wrote:Why can't he breathe when he's sitting up and sleeping? Not seeing the problem, sorry. The leaking diaper is a problem unless you buy honest diapers which are leaky or use cloth which are also leaky. When a kid falls asleep in most caregivers rule is let them sleep. Most kids are dragons if they wake too soon.
