We live in AU Park and paid our PT 20 hr/wk nanny $20/hr + taxes and paid holidays (and the required Workers Comp policy) and mileage reimbursement for driving our kids (then ages 20 months and 4 years at the start). That said, if you live on the otherwise of NW (eg Takoma) I have friends with excellent nannies who only pay $15/hr.

It's low. Too many people want experienced nannies for minimal pay.

im assuming total? Legal and English fluent nannies make $18 and more for one child on nw (we pay that and we are in MD) I would expect $20+ for a share.

Very low, OP.

I definitely think that's on the low side OP. I would presume you'd be at high risk of losing an experienced nanny who could easily command $22-24/hr for a share. (Your other benefits are pretty standard.)

You may open all sorts of discussions, which is a sources of numerous threads. Nannies will say $25-30/hr and families $18-22. Just talk to the nanny. This is a competitive market but most shares are around $18/hr or $2000 a month per family (dont forget you have to pay taxes).

Is $18 too small for a nanny share in NW, DC. with the nanny having 15 years of experience? The nanny just finished a nanny-share for two and half years with another family. we are offering her 2 weeks pay, 5 sick days and 7 paid holidays. We wanted to pay her $20 put the other family wanted to pay her $18. We feel like she will leave if she gets a better offer.
