Subject: Typical salary for a live in nanny
I agree with all the others. We need clarification in wheather ir not this is a true love in situation or if you are needing a 24 hour nanny five days a week. VERY different salaries.

If your Nanny actually lives with you and gets her mail at your house and calls it home, then the rate is different than her sleeping at your house during the week for convenience and then going somewhere else on the weekends where she may be paying rent/mortgage.
Clarify that and state what hours you need.

I am a nanny and I charge my "travel day rate" for any overnights at my employers homes which is about 25% more than my usual 11 hours a day.
Unless your nanny can count on free room and board seven days a week and 52 weeks a year , she is nota live in and will be more - not less - expensive.

If it's M-F, it's not technically a live in job. If the nanny resides elsewhere on the weekend, that is her home. And then you will have to pay her for every hour that she's on duty including overtime.
