Good point. There is a favorable self-selection at play - lazy nannies won't want to be on camera looking at their phone all day or ignoring kids.

same here, one in each BR, that nanny can access to while everyone naps and one in the family room. we can access all of them.
we also use it to monitor the cleaners are there on time, doing what they said they would, and for any other repair work being done in/on the house. NBD.

I disagree. I am an educated and experienced nanny and I expect cameras. I am in LA and perhaps it is different here but every high profile family has interior cameras and every well-paid nanny is more than fine with it.

It is the future whether nannies like it or not.

I am a nanny and I want cameras in the house. I want the parents to see how hard I work and how good I am.

If the family is good, pay is well. I would take the job. I don't know why nannies have a hard time with parents working from home or with cameras.

No. If you cannot trust person you hire after thoroughly checking references then you should stay home.

Yes, I have no problem working with cameras and would love to earn decent pay.

In a few weeks we will be interviewing nannies. We plan to have cameras installed in the house, not to watch the nanny all the time (we have demanding jobs and wouldn't have time for that), but to check in periodically for 30 seconds a couple times a day. The better daycare centers have cameras constantly monitoring the kids that parents can watch at anytime, for us this is no different. I want to be honest with whomever we hire so they aren't put off when they see them there. They will not be hidden. And if they are not comfortable with that they have the option not to take the job. For nannies out there -- what is the best way to share this with potential candidates?
