I'm in the UK - so the certificate is different. However, you want a certification that new born care specialists have - is there an agency that has many positions for NCS? Call them and ask what some of their ladies have.
Also if you want to work as a NCS you will need a clear plan for how to get experience and gain references with newborns

I am unemployed and trying to determine if it would be good professional development. Obviously since I am unemployed time is what I have plenty of. Money not so much. So I'd hate to register and parents not think it holds much weight.
I am career nanny and have taken several classes some more in depth than this one but I didn't walk about with anything to show families.

What sort of training and certification is available for becoming a newborn care specialist? Is there a gold standard, such as Red Cross for CPR certification?
