Consider your commute in whatever you try to set up for your schedule.
If I had the flexibility I'd go in earlier and come home earlier, not just for maximizing time w/ the kids, but also to minimize the amount of time I lose to the commute.

MB here, you are very fortunate you have a flexible schedule. If you can, do try to come home early on the days you go into work. If I could, I would be home by 5:00. For me, leave at 7:30 and do not get home until 6:15, which is really hard. My husband and I take turns going in early/coming home late...

I'm returning to work next month. We are in midst of hiring a full time nanny, but I want to be clear on my hours first. I may (hoping!) be able to WFH Mondays and Fridays. For days that I go into the office, is it better to go in early and come home early in terms of bed-times, etc? DD will be 7 months old when I go back.
Would love to hear sample schedules.
