Did she have reliability issues with previous employers? Missing work because she was sick may have been bad luck, but being late is just bad planning and with childcare, that would be a difficult hump to get over if I were considering rehiring her. Never say never. Just know it's a little bit like going back to an ex; you can't undo what has been done.

No, because you aren't a good fit for her and cannot be remotely flexible. You should not have fired her in the first place.

1. Unreliability
2. She threatened to sue you.
She's great with your kids ... when she happens to show up to work with them.

Absolutely not.
Even though you may have liked her as a person, as an employee she was just terrible overall.
Reliability is crucial when employing a Nanny & this person had total disregard for this.
And then to threaten to take you to court.....??!

You fired her for a reason, for a GOOD reason. Do not second guess yourself, and don't presume that anything would be different the second time around.
Not to mention, would you feel great about going back to a job from which you had been fired? No. You can never repair that kind of damage.
Throw money at the solution if you can - at least for the short term. Use an agency for immediate coverage and take plenty of time to find a replacement.
