Guilty much? Your home, but it's the nanny's job. If nanny doesn't want to do the extra work and/or you don't want to compensate her for it, why would she stay?

I would start a conversation about anything op. Just work around it and do what part it is your responsibility and let them see you've been focused on you charge all day and not cleaning up after grown people that know better. It would lol be a rude awakening for them to see that kitchen still a mess when they come home and realize it'll happen again if they leave it that way again. They know what they are doing and job creep only occurs if you allow or they outright say "oh would you mind doing so and so?" To which you can say you will or won't. If unloading the dw is in the agreement I would unload it and anything I use that day out in it and ignore the sink. How dare these people. Good luck

That's what I've done - Hi, I have taken on X Y an Z responsibilities and deserve to be compensated.

I agree that it is annoying and I always make sure the house was a nice clean place to work. If it wasn't - I'd apologize. most of the time nanny would just help me out. I'd thank her and then she'd get a huge bonus. life does get crazy sometimes.

If my nanny demanded anything - I'd be angry and she'd be gone. don't clean it up - but it is their home and they can keep it how they want.

I agree that a conversation is due here. Your employers were dead wrong to do this to you. I would be furious as well. Please address this situation immediately with them or this will become standard behavior on their part.

OP here. Stop. It sounds like PP usually makes bottles for her nanny, which is very thoughtful. As for baby laundry, I think that is a pretty general nanny responsibility. Don't be rude.

Not only does a reset conversation sound necessary, I would probably leave all the mess that I couldn't work around. It would be better if they actually have to LOOK at it when you have the discussion of what is reasonable.

This is beyond any idea of reasonable. A "reset" discussion is in order for sure, and I would do it this evening before you leave.

Unless life went completely sideways this weekend (ie: family emergency) there is no reason for this. If something did happen they could have given you a heads up.

I walked into work this morning to find an absolute hellhole of a mess.
*Last night's dinner dishes are still in the sink-not soaked
*Dishwasher is full of clean dishes for me to put away
*Drying rack is full of clean dishes that I washed and put away on Friday
*There are toys EVERYWHERE
*Both diaper pals are overflowing
*Toothpaste is all over my charge's bathroom counter/mirror
*Empty rolls of TP in all bathrooms (except MB/DB's)
*Full garbage can
*The 100 or so books on my charge's bookcase are on the floor

I've noticed job creep over the past 2 years or so. I tried to dismiss it, as I wanted to be a team player. This is ridiculous. I'm going to have to have a reset conversation with them. On top of all of this, I wash all of my charge's laundry, batch cook meals for their parents to feed them and have their dinner ready to go when they come home (among countless other things). Blerg.
