I've only hired one. From the first telephone interview, to formally locking it down with contract and start date, took a week.

Or less.

Agree. Good nannies are few and far between. Hence the frequently revolving nanny door.

I'm the PP who doesn't hire so fast. I used to believe this. I no longer do. People are constantly "coming available," and if you hire too fast, you tend to overlook mismatches in personality, parenting style, etc..

Every job I've been hired for that worked out was offered within 24 hrs. If it takes longer than that I move on.

The first couple of times I hired nannies, I was really fast.

I've slowed down since then because I have a better idea of what I'm looking for, and different candidates have different strengths.

This is a question mostly for MBs..
If you have interviews with nannies, how fast do you hire someone that
Wowed you? If you really liked someone, will you hire her as soon as possible within days, or take your time?
Thank you!
I'm only asking because I went to an interview, the mom really loved me (she has a special needs child and I'm a nursing student), and she hired me pretty quickly. I'm a little bit cautious and think maybe it's a red flag, who knows...
Thank you again!
