I have a nanny and live in Denver. During interviews with several nannies last year it was almost unanimous that everyone was asking for $15/hr for 1 child. We did a bit less than that but offered health insurance and some other benefits.

Going rate for 2 children is around $18-22 from what I've observed.

MB in Boulder here. I'd say $16-22ish depending on experience. It's not as high as you might think given the incomes. Also I don't know about ABC but we had a bad experience with another agency so I'd say to be sure to check that out as well.

I'm a nanny moving to CO. I've actually already submitted my application to ABC! They've already been in touch and of course this is something I can ask them in a call, but I'm trying to scope the market for myself as much as possible. It's funny, I couldn't find any mention of salary in any CO agency's listings (agencies around here almost always list the hourly rate), so I have no idea what to expect as far as salary. I'm making about $20/hr here in the Midwest, and I told them I'm looking for $18-$25 in CO. Do you think that sounds reasonable for the area? It looks like the cost of living is a bit higher than where I am now.


It is reasonable, but it is also hard to find. I'm ending my current position and I am having a hard time finding what I want. I think it is hard to find a family that values having a nanny almost anywhere, and that's really what it boils down to. I have a friend who is a well paid lawyer and her husband is a well paid engineer. They paid their nanny $12/ hr with no benefits. No surprise that their kids have gone through at least 3 nannies and are now in daycare. Cheap F'ers! Good luck! If apply to all agencies and venture out on your own. Are you moving to Denver? Where are you coming from?



I have personal experience with families like you described. Needless to stay I didn't stay with them long! I'm coming from Indiana and I'll be looking around Denver. I'm crossing my fingers something perfect comes my way so we can get out there!

Rates will vary widely depending on what area of the state you are moving to. A nanny in Boulder can probably earn twice as much as a nanny in Pueblo.
