I think three weeks is adequate notice for asking for two days off.

Most especially since you do not ask very often.

OP here. Thank you this made me feel better. I understand with my job sometimes it's not easy finding back up. I like to give lots and lots of notice.

No it's not an emergency but it's a family event that I'd hate to miss. My cousin is getting leave and will be home. I have to travel so that's why I wanted two days off.

Is three weeks enough time to request off two days? I feel bad if this is short notice but it's not like I'm asking the day before right? I've had some family stuff come up. I rarely ask for days off.
