I keep interviewing no matter how interested a parent is until they send a contract. I've been burned before with the promise of the job only to be told they went with a candidate they interviewed after me.

It has only been two days, so I wouldn't worry too much.

They probably have a lot on their plate now, completing all of their interviews, etc.

They likely will only ask for reference contact information once they narrow down their search to a few candidates.
This is a very wise move since it would be a waste of time to contact everyone's references after meeting.

I know it is hard to do, been there MANY many times OP (!!), but try to be patient here.

Also, try not to pin all of your hopes on this one family.

Keep searching for a position & do not limit yourself at this point + time.

I wish you all the best!

I don't know why this requires any advice ASAP. There's no emergency. Just follow their instructions.

Yes wait, it's what I'm doing right now. But meanwhile keep looking in case they say they found somebody else. Plus you'll look pushy if you keep texting them, and they might not hire you because of that. Good luck!!!

I would believe what they told you - that they plan to spend a week or two interviewing but want to know if you are entertaining other offers.

Sounds like they were very clear and straightforward - which is great. So you should wait it out for at least a few more days before following up.

I interviewed with a family on Tuesday evening. They told me they would be interviewing over the next 1-2 weeks and to let them know if they were taking too long and I got an offer.
