I would only blow them off (as the PP suggested above) if you can collect your final pay first.
And if paid by check, make sure it clears first.

But none of it was in vain.

You learned a hard lesson & I know from now on, you will not let anyone treat you like this again. Ever.

At least now you are equipped w/some better tools for your next job.

Is your next gig starting right away? If so, I'd blow them off next week, or even the last day or two and take time to decompress. Failing that, at least treat yourself to a massage and a movie out or something.

You get over it by moving on and using it as a learning experience. You should have quit months ago. It's a job, not a charity -- with lots of notice, there was no reason not to quit during the school year.

Hi everybody, I finally quit my job as a "nanny", more like a doormat.
I've been with them for a few years and the last year was just real bad...4 kids, they had me do everything, except for
cleaning. I worked part time with a wahm. She constantly nagged and complained, gave me hundreds of things to do,
used me as her personal assistant. I only stayed for this long because I was looking for a new job, which I finally found,
and I didn't think leaving during the school year was nice of me to do. They also grossly underpaid me.
So now I'm not only out of thousands of dollars, but mentally exhausted and depressed...my question is how to best get over it?
I'm done with them next week, and it's so hard feeling like this and still sticking it out for another week.
