An expired license doesn't mean you can't drive forever. I hadn't realized my license expired because I rarely drive. Driving isn't even part of the job ( 4 month old) but it was including with the criminal part.
BTW, its " Doesn't make any sense".

Yes, they ARE being super-rude & inconsiderate by not responding and you already have decided to not work for them.
So why would you want to have anything more to do with them after all this??!

Go get your license today or tomorrow. and when the clean background check comes in, email MB with your background check and a picture of your new license, and tell her you would very much like to work for the family.

Renew your license, and move on.
P.S. You wrote in your OP they would be making a decision this week. It's only Wednesday.
It's a license. Who cares? Unless she's driving, it doesn't make a difference.
God forbid there's an emergency I want to know my nanny is capable of grabbing the spare set of keys and hopping in the car to take my kids to the emergency room. But aside from that, if you know your lack of something will get noticed, you get it taken care of. I never notarize anything - but I'm a notary and keep my ability to be one up to date. Even though it's not required for my job. Lastly, allowing something you have to expire is a sign of irresponsibility. Stay on top of your things.
