I am a "weekend nanny" for one very high profile family and a full-time nanny Monday through Thursday for my 40 hour nanny position. Yes - weekend nanny does exist. I tool this weekend position thinking that it would only be 10 hours each weekend but it has turned into 23 hours between Saturday and Sunday! Luckily, I love the family and my charge.

How are you going to be home during the week if you're nannying at someone's house? You realize nannies still have jobs, right? They're in someone else's house. Do you mean you want to be an in home daycare provider? Or a part time nanny? There's no way you'll be home or off at your school volunteering if you're a nanny.

..... she wants to be a nanny only on the weekends.

Sure you can find a quality person willing to work weekends only.

It may take more time to find that person, but it's not impossible.

Yeah, I work M-F for one family and Saturdays for 6 hours for another. I don't think it's uncommon. We have an 'informal' agreement so there are no guaranteed hours which means that if one Saturday they don't need me, they let me know (always in advance) and I don't get paid, and if I have something then I can call out and don't get paid. It works for us - but then I'm only there so the parents can spend some time with the older kids while I help out with the littles, so it's all flexible. If you need someone permanent and reliable, you need to have it set up as a regular full-time nanny job with guaranteed hours.

Yes there are, but usually these positions pay more (that's the incentive). I work M-F, 35-40hrs a week for $28"9/hr gross and I work Sundays/holiday Mondays for a different family for $35/hr. I'm in LA so the rates are much higher, but just wanted to give you an example.

Depends on the details, OP, just like anything else.

I am a nanny. I work M-F 45 hours a week for one family and on Saturday I work with another family for 6 hours.

So yeah.

If you pay her a M-F salary for Sat and Sun you could find many qualified candidates.

Is there such a thing as a weekend-only nanny? Are there quality nanny professionals who would take such a job? I mean a real nanny, not just a babysitter. I'm thinking quality nannies would prefer working M-F and have their weekends off. And how much more (I'm assuming they make more hourly) would they make compared to a M-F nanny? I'm looking for someone to help out either in the mornings or half-day on both Saturday and Sunday.
