I think she is insecure. I think she afraid we will become friends and tell each things she does. The other nanny has been with them for a few years. Maybe she worried she will tell me bad things that have happen in the past.

I know for a fact we are paid the same and have same benefits.

The mother may be unstable, so not sure you can fix that. Hopefully she's working with a good mental health professional.

After the other nanny has been there for several years? I can see exactly why this is something she doesn't want the other nanny to know.

Maybe your pay and benefits packages are different and she is worried this will be discussed?

She's probably doing this because she doesn't want the two of you to build a strong alliance.

She probably fears you both may either be in cahoots against her or simply vent about her behind her back.

She sounds very insecure if you ask me.

Talk to her directly & let her know that it is imperative that both you + the other nanny communicate on a regular basis.

Stress that you are a team and that you need to work together as one for the children's best interest.

Good luck!
