They were trying to identify her and had him look at drivers license pictures of women with her name. A no call no show is one thing. She told me what she wanted for dinner, told me she was on her way, then tells me she is is having car troubles and would be here soon and didn't show up. I was worried she is on the side of the road alone and maybe something happened. I am starting to think that maybe she did just not show up and is fine. I didn't realize or think anyone would do this.

Photos of what? This makes no sense. You can't file a missing person report because she didn't show up for a babysitting job. So, what kind of photos are the police asking your husband to look at?

This isn't a relative off yours, is it?

This is how we do things in america. I've had this happen to me many times with sitters. They will agree to a date, no show on the agreed time and then just never respond again.

You do have every right to be concerned. Hopefully something very urgent came up that she was unable to reply to you and that she's otherwise okay!

If your story is true, why didn't you file a missing person report and get a case number? The police can easily locate the phone, plus identify the owner/address of the cell phone. They don't need to share anything with you, do they?

Tell the cops to get her phone. They can pinpoint its location.

Last night I spoke to our sitter a half hour before she was to come and she gave me her dinner order. A half hour later she text me she is going to be 15 minutes late a half hour later she sent me a strange text saying she was on park with car troubles be done soon. I immediately called and text her to see if she needed any help and make sure she was ok. I called her probably 10 times last night and text her 7 times. Nothing! I'm so worried about her. I contacted the police department to make sure she wasn't on the side of the road and make sure nothing was called in meeting the description of her car or her. An officer called me and said that he called several times and left a message for her to call him but he hadn't heard from her as of this morning. He did say that her cell phone was on and moving. Doesn't mean she is with it but that was all the info he had.

Our sitter has been with us a year and babysits weekly. She is so reliable and we have never had a problem with her flaking out or even being late. The one time she had an emergency she found a replacement sitter.

I'm so concerned. Any thoughts? Parents get an address and an emergency contact for your babysitters. All I have is her name and number!
