Me too. I find being a mother easier, too, because he's fine and I can watch TV all day if I want (I don't).

Nanny here and I would LOVE to be a mom. Unfortunately, I just can't see myself as a single mom and I am as single ad they come, so I am just going to have to borrow someone else's babies for now.

PBeing a long term nanny just showed me that I didnt want to wait till my mid 30' to have my own kids. Its too late. I had my first one when I was 28, brought my child to work till he was ready for preschool. Im blessed that i was able to make money and spend time with my child.

Former nanny here. It made me want kids more, but it also made me realize I did not want to be a nanny and mom at the same time.

I've known since since I was a teen that I wouldn't be able to have my own children (medical issues under control barely, hormone surges and weight gain could destroy that). I love working with kids, and if my life is working the way I hope in my 40s, I will foster preteens and teens.

Nanny here. I don't plan on being a career nanny but I have been one for many years. I wouldn't say nannying ( infants and young children) has put me off to the idea of having children but it's definitely opened my eyes to the negatives. I still want children but not until I'm in mid-30's ( turning 27 soon). It's made me be more realistic and aware of how time consuming and expensive it is to raise a child. I don't think there is every a " perfect" time or situation to have a child but I realize I want to graduate, work a few years, and become financially secure before I even think of starting a family.

Career nanny here- 41 and have zero desire to have kids! I wanted kids desperately in my early 30s, now I'm so glad I didn't have any. I like to travel and do my own thing.

Cateer nanny here who doesn't want children. I only see the negatives to it. Probably because I've been a nanny too long. If I happen to ever have a child I will only have 1. I have yet to meet a human that enjoys having a sibling. And I will only have a child to make my parents happy.

I want kids a bit less after nannying. I see how expensive they are, how exhausted parents are, and how they never go anywhere or do anything, and when they do they have to pay me in addition to whatever they do. I still want kids but it can wait. I'm still in my twenties, newly married, and enjoying my freedom.

Because you see the 'ugly' side of being a mom, or for reasons that aren't job-related?

I'm a longtime nanny and I knew after my first week that I didn't want children. I love them, but am perfectly happy not having any of my own.

op: Moms aren't going to say they regret becoming a mom, because that's like saying 'I don't love my child'. Being a mom is really hard, and also rewarding at times. Nannies have more insight into what it's like to be a mom without actually being one, than anyone else.

Why are you asking?

If you have worked as a nanny before having your own children, did your nanny experience make you want kids more or less?
