Has it occurred to you that this is how many people put themselves through school? Being a student is expensive and the sad reality is a lot of people need to live this way. It's stressful and awful for your health and grades, and a lot of people don't have a choice. Must be nice to be able to "call BS" on it though, I have a feeling your college experience was a walk in the park.

How about a gift card for something that she might actually use, like an AmerEx or Visa gift card? Some of us aren't interested in spas or massages, and OP may not know whether her sitter is?

I worked full time at a tennis club, took night classes three nights a week, and worked the other nights plus weekends at a fitness club. I worked 60-65 hours a week. It's doable.

I have a relative who gives luggage as a graduation gift. I never would have thought of that as a gift, but it always turns out that the luggage is put to use within the next few months.

BTDT. 60 hours is easy to hit if you do classes during the late morning/afternoon. Childcare before school (5.30-8.30 am 5 days a week=15 hours), evenings (4-9 pm 5 days a week=25 hours) and weekends (7 am to 7 pm 2 days per week=20 hours). Homework after 9 pm, during naps on the weekends and between classes. It's even easier if you do online classes, so that there's no commute.

She likes kids! Seriously. Spends 60 hours a week taking care of them. Also Caribbean music. Lots of dietary restrictions so will stay away from food. Good idea to take note of jewelry. Cash and gift is a good idea.

A small gift with some cash. You know her. Personally, I'd enjoy unique earrings, coffee house gift card, nice bottle of wine. One of the best gifts I've received is theater tickets to Phantom. What does she like? Concert tickets?

Our sitter is graduating from college. Any thoughts on a good/appropriate gift for a young female grad? She's headed to grad school next year. I figured money...but it seems so impersonal.
