The door needs to be replaced? Talk to your insurance company and make sure an adjuster from your company looks at it first. After that-never babysit for these jerks again.
I really don't think they are jerks. It was my mistake.
I highly doubt your insurance is going to cover it, generally insurance covers a specific car and a specific driver, not just you broadly. You were driving the car at their request, specifically for work. If you aren't covered under their insurance, it's their loss.
I would call your company, explain exactly what happened, and see how to proceed. DO NOT agree to pay for this OP. Yes, you were driving, but it is their fault for not having adequate space to park the car (and for MB texting you a million times about the nap, seriously that has been bugging me from the beginning).
I agree with the texting issue, as any reasonable MB would know that texting more than once every 30 minutes or so is too much, and certainly that texting about the same thing over and over is overkill. It's also on them (and the grandparents) that the griveway was too crowded to be able to park correctly.
I would request that you talk to their insurance agent as well as your own. Explain the situation to your insurance agent first, see if it would be covered, and ask for them to email you the decision. Email your insurance's decision (which is most likely to be that they won't pay) to both MB and DB, and ask if you can talk to their insurance agent, expedite the process for them. If they chose not to add a rider to their insurance to cover an employee driving their vehicle, that's on them. Your personal insurance most likely only covers you while driving your vehicle, and possibly a rental, not a friend's or employer's car.
