You should find a different sitter for your toddler. This one is not a good fit.

When a parent is inside the home, young children oftentimes act out because they are just hoping the parent will engage w/them. Always.

But if you are not in the house while your nanny is there, perhaps your nanny is just not good caring for toddlers.

And if that is the case here, then yes.... I would find someone else.

We have known this woman for years and my older two kids absolutely LOVE her. I am having her watch my youngest (18months) 3x a week. Its been a month and he flips out every time she is here. She doesn't take it personally but I can't help but wonder why he hates her so much. Maybe its the age? He puts himself to sleep a lot more when she has him than other days. He'll just sleep in the stroller or sisters bed. And he doesn't want to really interact with her. She says he is happy as long as she doesn't initiate contact or play. She waits for him to come over.

Should we find somekne else or chalk it up to my kid being difficult?
