It sounds like she basically doesn't trust you and you don't want to work for anyone who could imply that you are a liar. Period.

I do keep a long daily. And normally the connection is when parents feed baby something funny for dinner night before. Like Indian food, tacos or meat sauce.

She sounds like a FTM who doesn't understand that kids aren't machines. An off day every couple weeks is not unusual.

If regular disruptions in his sleep schedule are happening then I would question it also. Maybe you and she need to figure out whether the schedule needs adjusting.

Do you keep a log? If so then you could correlate nap disruptions with bowel movements (if you think that's a consistent cause). Or you could see if maybe the naptime needs to be adjusted a bit to allow enough time after a meal to change a diaper. Etc...

But keeping a log would also help you say "it seems like every other week or so there is a day when he doesn't sleep for the full, usual time. I am keeping all the mealtimes consistent (which you can demonstrate w/ a good daily log) so don't really know what the cause might be."

Basically, decide you're not going to take this personally, rather that you will document what happens during the day so you and your employers can look together to see if there is any kind of consistent pattern to the disruption, or if it's just so infrequent that it's not a cause for concern.

Don't treat her questioning as an insult - that will just feed any tension between you. Instead, treat her concern for maintaining a consistent sleep schedule as valid, and try to communicate that you agree.

Unless you don't and you think she's being nuts. That's a different problem.

Often he wakes up and doesn't take his whole nap because he has a blow out. It's literally nothing I'm doing and I don't know how many ways I can state that.

If it happen once or twice maybe. But it's a repeat thing and she questions what I'm doing that's messing up his schedule.

What is his routine on your days?

I nanny for a child that has a very different sleep schedule with me 5 days a week and the parents over the weekend. The mother thinks days he doesn't sleep 3-4 hours I am purposely messing up his sleep. Granted I am nanny that cooks and does the laundry. I do need the child to sleep for me to be able to do all this. I do not understand why the mom constantly thinks I'm trying to mess up the baby's sleep! He's 6 months old by the way.
