I don't give a gift card when I am giving a raise or bonus. Something personal is better. I think the flowers are a lovely idea.

While flowers are a lovely gesture OP, some people such as myself are not really into florals.

A better alternative might be a gift card to a good restaurant, coffee shop or massage parlor!

I don't plan to spend more than the cost of the flowers, so if I round up to $30 would nanny be happy with that vs. flowers? At least flowers are pretty for a week or so, $30 won't last long.

Our nanny's 1 year anniversary is coming up! We plan on giving her a raise with a card saying how much we appreciate her. What else can we do? Flowers?
