OP, if you can afford to make ends meet I'd resign now and hit the job search hard. This doesn't sound like a good situation at all.

I am not naive. I do stick to a contract. It's binding document that was signed in front of a lawyer.

Your contract says they pay you only when they need you? You said they lay you off without notice or pay. I don't know anyone who can support themselves like that, unless they charged a very high rate when they worked.

Find another job that starts in a month, then when you've securred taht give your current family one month's notice. Your new family will apprecaite that you're not leaving your current family in the lurch.

I have many reasons why I wish to leave my nanny family:
Lack of communication between parents
Child that acts out. (Hits and kicks me)
Constant amount of visitors
Being told I don't have to work half the week without notice or pay
The list could go on and on. In my contract it states that I must give a month notice. Which I am fine with. I am worried though if I give a month notice and they see you later I'll be stressed. But I also can't stand to wait any longer. I've had my letter of resignation written for a month now!! Suggestions??
