It doesn't matter what market rates are. OP needs to write a description of the job first, then figure out what they want for experience and credentials before rate is even a factor.

Sigh, obvious troll is obvious. A simple search here will reveal that average wages in the DC area are more like $16-20/hr for a qualified, experienced, English fluent nanny for one child (slightly higher if you have more than one child).


You're both wrong. $15-17/hr for one child. Very few people pay $20/hr for one child in DC unless there are unusual special needs or extra duties.
