I'm a parent who uses care.com occasionally and I think this is a great idea. It's true that I value seeing that background checks are on file - it shows me that the person has nothing to hide, and likely has a spotless check if they're willing to post it.
I do also value the reviews of course, but doing something you actually can control seems like a great idea.
