Just trying to keep things smooth until I leave next year.

Why would you live an hour from your employers? For a nanny job? Absurd. Also, roads are clear, you can go in. Buck up.

She lives where she can afford to live, Mrs. Astorbilt! Secondary roads where I live have yet to be plowed and, apparently, this is true of many, if not most, secondary streets. So, Mr know-it-all, you do not know as much as you think you know.

Tons of neighborhoods haven't been plowed yet, and won't be done until sometime tomorrow. By Tuesday, everyone should be able to get back to life as normal.

Uber drivers are mostly joe-schmoes that are not trained nor equipped to drive on snow.. but you know WHO CARES... as long as your employee gets to work. *eyeroll* I bet you also complain about the sur-charges even after agreeing to them.

Judgmental much?

And no, not all roads are clear.

Exactly. Plus, no one wants to skid across an ice patch, and even plowed roads have lots of them. Tomorrow am will be very icy on the side streets. That's why schools have already announced closures.

MB here.

We are on a street that I don't expect will see a plow until Monday (or maybe late tonight.)

Our nanny lives in an apartment community about 20 minutes from here, mostly by highway.

I cannot imagine any of use going to work tomorrow.

I think it's likely I'll be telecommuting on Tuesday so if she is able to get here safely for some chunk of Tuesday that will be great, but we'll see what tomorrow brings.

Unless they contact you, I would wait till OPM makes determination for Federal government. Many private companies do determination at the same time. If your neighborhood is not plowed by 6 pm, I would let them know as well. If your neighborhood is plowed and their is as well, you need to go to work.
