It's a scarf. I wouldn't let a scarf ruin a good relationship. The whole thing seems funny to me. Maybe you should just be more careful about taking everything with you when you leave places.

I know people like this. It's not that they are kelptos, it's that once cornered, they will never back down, no matter how wrong they are. I bet she didn't know it was your scarf when she found it and just decided to put it on, thoughtlessly. Then, when you pointed it out, she claimed it was hers so as not to lose face. Now she's stuck and will go to the mat before admitting (her now snowballing) error.

that is totally ridiculous of her- would make me wonder what other weird things she will do. It's not appropriate for her to keep something when you said it is yours. But honestly I do think it matters how badly you need the job and whether she has other odd qualities or whether this was just a bizarre situation

Yeah I thought when they came home she would've thought more about it while they were out and she would be giving it back to me. But nope just put it away with her coat with out a second thought. Im just going to take it back next week when they aren't paying attention. This is ridiculous. If someone recognized an item I was wearing and said it was theirs and I had no recollection of where it came from Id agree it was more than likely theirs. Its on! I mean she doesn't even know where it came from!

Give her a little time to realize her mistake. If she still makes no effort to figure out the orgin of the scarf's true owner then I guess you can think whether your job is worth the scarf or not.

Pp I think this is what I'll do next week. I mean why not just say " oh I had no idea here you go!" And return it since you don't even recall where you got the thing and I told you exactly where I did. I'll just have to remember to not wear it here! I'm getting sort of pissed the more I think about it lol

I had a former MB pull the same thing! I knew it was mine because the tag has a price written on it in marker, and my MIL had bought it on sale. I grabbed it one day while she wasn't around and never wore if back to their house. She knew it wasn't hers. She never said anything about it disappearing.

Ask her where she bought it from. If she can't tell you then tell her it's because she didn't buy it.

Ok I sit for a family part time ever week and haven't been back in about a month due to holidays and traveling etc. I arrive and see my Infiniti scarf on the back of a kitchen chair and touch it and ask where they found it and see a puzzled look on her face. I tell her I thought it was mine that's been missing and let her know the store I purchased it from and what the brand is. She looks for the tag which I removed because it was large and I tell her that. She looks at her husband and asks if he remembers it's hers and he says he has no idea. I tell her ok and that I'd been searching for mine for weeks. She puts it on and they head out. What in the world!? Now I really want my scarf back, should I let this go or bring it up again? I know it is mine! Lol
