But if you didn't have anything in writing, and they are already giving you a full month notice, I think they're being pretty decent.

Why do you think you are entitled to 2 weeks of vacation for only 6 months of work? Maybe if you had made it to 1 year, but you weren't meeting their childs needs and they moved on, so you arent owed anything.
