To add some perspective, last year I started a new job on December 1st but second baby didn't join share till December 15 so I was with one family 3 weeks and the other family one week. I was pleasantly surprised they both gave me a full week's bonus. My former family had given me my Christmas bonus too before the job ended. I was very grateful for their generosity. I'm starting year two with these two families now. They're happy with me and I'm happy with them.

I think this is fair.

I agree - $100 maximum but $50 is good. If she's still with you next year, you can do the 1 week's pay then.

OP here. Exactly, I plan to do this. $50 probably and next year 1-2 weeks bonus Thanks

For someone who started in December, $100-200 for a full-time nanny or $50-100 for a part-time would be adequate.

how much is her guaranteed pay? Id give half of that since she just started a week ago. And the rest if she has a birthday coming within the next 6 months

I would say about $100 cash.

Hi, I have a new part time nanny that just started a week ago. How much would you give as a Christmas gift? Thanks!
