Subject: MB started to cut my hours
YIkes.
I have worked alongside Grandparents and it is the WORST. I would rather eat rocks.
Just kidding. Sort of.
I would be angry if my hours were cut, esp. now so close to Christmas.
Let your boss know ASAP that you need a full-time position, and that your hours are closer to part-time.
Stress that you have bills to pay and cannot simply live on the pay that you have been receiving as of late.
If she cannot offer you back the forty hrs. per wk, then it is definitely not going to work.
Plus, I would take issue with someone offering me less hours after being hired at full-time.

If there is o agreement, you aren't required to provide notice. I would look for another position now, as soon as you find one which is acceptable to you, let her know that you have another position, what the rate and hours are, etc. If she wants to retain you, she needs to match or exceed the compensation from the other position, and it needs to be guaranteed in writing.

Talk to her. Tell her that you need reliable income. If she wants to guarantee 40 hours a week, write up a contract. If she doesn't, start looking for a new job.

I hopebyoue agreement is in writing, otherwise, you are screwed. Askbhervwht she isn't paying you for all 40 hours and she will tell you that you only get paid for hours worked. Go to wagevams labor office and file a complaint against her. However, if you are illegal, e.g. paid in cash. Then you are screwed.
ALWAYS get a written agreement as to your hours, if they are guatanteed, etc.

So, I'm working for a family 40 hours a week. Everything is great besides I'm working with a grandparent. Anyways, the family is organizing family diners, going out etc. And I get paid only for the hours I work. So my hours are now 23-35. MB didn't say anything, she just started paying me less.
