Caring for another child in your own has liability issues, and you need to license or charge less for an unlicensed daycare. Either way, it's not worth it to most nannies with their own kids.

OP here: does she come to your home? $10/hour doesn't seem worth it to me if I need to wake up super early and drive far away.

MB here. If all other factors worked (right experience, good fit, etc...) I would pay up to $14/hr for a part time position quite happily.

I am paying a sahm with a child a year older than mine $10 an hour to watch my kid 8days a month 4 hours a day. We have been friends for a while and this helps us both out.

I'm a soon to be SAHM with my first one on the way and wondering what to charge if I want to find a PT nanny job when I can bring my child along. I'm thinking 1-2 days/ week. I realize it's not something most families want. I'm just genuinely seeking advice on rates. I don't know at what point I would want to start either. Perhaps around 6 months- 1 year . I used to nanny before becoming a SAHM and charged $15/ hour. I'm thinking $10/ hour? I live in NOVA. TIA
