Since the person did not leave a contact no.# or even a name, I would treat it with a grain of salt.

Since your nanny passed the background check, etc. and you are happy with her work, then just let it go.

It could be a jealous rival nanny or some teens playing a prank.

Regardless, unless the person gives you their identity (which would legitimatize the note), I would just ignore it.

But I find it odd that someone actually took the time to follow your husband home. That is kinda weird to me. Perhaps the person has mental issues. Who really knows?

Did the other share family get a note as well. Sounds stalkerish if she doesn't even work in your home. I think your nanny is being harassed

Someone who clearly really dislikes your nanny now knows where you live. That would make me nervous, and I'd be contacting the police!

I pay no attention to anonymous crap. Show it to her and see what she says. Most likely it is someone jealous who wants her job.

Sure but she's paid on the books and we reviewed her green card and did a background check.

One thing to note is that the letter did not appear to come from q native English speaker. Which makes me worry this is nanny drama or blackmail. From references and such I do trust our nanny but also am trying to be preparing for other options.

I was gonna say. Could have come from another nanny that might want her job. But the letter might still be stating the truth in terms of immigration issues.

I wouldn't downplay this and Neither should you because it involves the safety of your child. I would have a talk with her and also do another background check just in case. In the meantime I would start looking for different arrangement. Good luck, this doesn't look good, seems like a lot of drama.

Wait, what? You did a background check, found out she had past cases of alleged theft, but STILL decided to hire her anyway? I'm having a hard time understand how that's NOT a dumb move.

This is bizarre, but last night someone left a typed up note at our home "warning" us of our nanny - the odd thing being that the other family hosts the share, so we're thinking someone might have followed my husband home. The note cited some immigration issues and past cases involving alleged theft. All of these issues were pinged in the background investigation that we conducted before hiring and we have been very happy with the care provided. She also had several really glowing references and came highly plugged on MOTH (though I now take this with a grain of salt, as most people seem to love to sell their nannies!)

Has anyone had experiences such as this before? I would think if someone really wanted to "warn" us, they would do so in person or included contact information. The court print out is over a month old - again, weird that you would wait a month to warn!

Any advice on how to discuss this with our nanny? I'm mostly afraid that who ever dropped this might be harassing or blackmailing her. And also hope I'm not being too naive.
