I would definitely choose the second option.

OT is required by law & if a family intentionally said they wouldn't be paying that, then that is a red flag that they are going to try to nickel + dime you to death.

Could also be why you feel no connection to the parents. They sound pretty shady to me.

They aren't allowed to NOT pay you overtime. It's a law, not a benefit they can choose to offer if they want to.

OP here. I forgot to add that both families have one parent working from home. I personally like having a connection with the people I work with. It makes my job much more enjoyable.

Staying with # 2 for another month will earn me much more. Both babies aren't great napper a but it's not uncommon at this age. I'm going with #2.

Position number two hands down.

January is easier to find a new position than December. And bad napper is easier than reflux.

Job # 1. $18/hr for 50 hours. No OT offered. Baby is 4 months. Has reflux. Position is short-term from next week through mid-December. 15 minutes away. No connection with parents.

Job # 2. $18 hr plus OT for 44 hours. Baby is same age as other. No issues but bad napper. Short-term positions from next week until mid- January. Love the parents but commute is 30-35 minutes away.

Both seem great but I'm leaning towards position 2. I think finding a position in or around January will hopefully be a great time.
