We used nose frida and stopped after one use - not because it's gross, and not because it didn't work clearing our baby's nose. We stopped using it because both I and my husband who used it got the sickest we've ever been in our adult lives when our baby just had a runny nose. Think about it, you're basically inhaling germs into your lungs. The little sponge might stop mucous from getting into your mouth, but it's not going to stop tiny droplets filled with virus from getting through, it's not anti-bacterial or anti-viral.

There is a filter and the snot you get out comes nowhere near the filter anyway. There is no way you could suck any in your mouth.

Yes I know this logically but still can't bring myself to use it. It's like how people who aren't comfortable with blood not being able to watch gory movies. They know the blood isn't real but it still turns their stomach.

This is too gross and I wouldn't even use this on my children and would never ask anyone else to use this. Just gross, gross.

I'm an infant nanny and use it. Is really not gross at all. I share a loving bond with my charges. I clean up their puke, spit-up, stool, urine, etc., so why wouldn't I clear a stuffy nose? It doesn't hurt them at all.

Best invention ever. And the best for the baby. Just try it - you cannot suck too hard and so much easier than those nose bulbs.

I don't use it. My MB will occasionally. It just grosses me out too much.

Nannies, do you use the Nose Frida? I hear great things about it online, and traditional bubble-style aspirators really don't seem to work very well. My hesitation has three causes: 1-The thought of it trips my gag reflex a little. It just seems pretty gross. Wiping noses, diaper blowouts, etc, don't bother me, this just seems a bit worse. But that's the least important reason. 2-I'm afraid of knowing how hard to suck on it. Can it hurt the baby if you use the Nose Frida wrong/too strongly? 3-It also seems a bit... intimate. Like something a mother would do but not a daycare teacher or nanny.

Of course I want to do what's best for my charges, so I wanted to see what other nannies think. Do you use it or not, and for what reasons? Thanks!
