Did you never need to get around as a teen without a car/driver's license? The only options you can come up with are pay a private driver, be it a "nanny" (p.s. how embarrassing for your kid) or a taxi? Why not a town car?

OR how about she gets around how teenagers have for the past 50 years. Carpool. Take the bus. Ride a bike. Wait in the library until you can come and pick her up.

Uber drivers actually do their own background check and submit it. A cab is much more regulated and go through an extensive background check every year. Uber drivers only submit once and that's it. I would not trust an Uber. Either get a safe taxi or a driver that has been throughly background checked.

I know an uber and taxi man personally. These statements have been told by both of them.

Yikes! Im 23 and sometimes I'm afraid of going in an Uber etc. I would never let my child on it by themselves! Hire one of- a nanny and you'd be better off
Good luck !

Uber takes zero responsibility for hiring people arrested for rape. I use Uber and will take my 12 yr old in an Uber car with me, but I'd never let her go alone.

I'd make my girl take the bus, but if there's no bus route, I'd hire someone.

What would you recommend? I have a teenage daughter who needs to be picked up at school and dropped off at the activities about three times a week.

The distance is about 8 miles (it make take 20-30 mins depending upon traffic).

I am considering hiring a driver or taxi/uber/car service.
