I don't understand since you took the time to prepare their food, while you didn't make enough for yourself as well. That way you could have stayed and enjoyed it.
Your bosses suck for making you cook a whole meal, then not allow you to share it.
It's pretty messed-up to make someone cook, then not allow them a morsel of food afterward.
Im sure they would be fine with me staying and eating with them but honestly I've been there since 7:30 and want to go home!
Come sept I'll probably pre make meals. But it's not just dinner. There are days when like mentioned I do laundry all day or wash the floors and the whole time I'm thinking I am just going to go home and clean the floors or do a bunch of laundry again.
Does anyone else find it easier to cook clean and keep up with laundry at work vs at home?? I know for me it's so much easier. I know I'm at work for more time during the week so that's probably why! Anyways back to folding Elsa underwear
Yikes OP, seems there are more job issues here than with the cooking part.
I don't think cooking an elaborate dinner each night, scrubbing floors and doing laundry are typical duties for a nanny. It sounds like they want a chef/chambermaid/nanny all in one deal.
I have been a nanny for many years and seriously, cooking is not my forte. Let's just say that my microwave is like my fifth limb. I cannot even properly boil water. And I am just a wreck using a washer and dryer that are not my own. I once had a MB who blamed me when her dryer went
kaput saying that it worked fine the day before. Ever since then, I have refused to do laundry on the job. I only do childcare because that is what a nanny is.
The best families to work for are those who stress that they only want you to focus on their child(ren.) Because that in itself is a HUGE responsibility in itself. If they need someone to wash the floors, they can hire a maid. If they want someone to wash, dry, fold and put away laundry they can either ask the maid or hire a laundress. In my town, we have a
fluff and fold laundry service in many laundromats where they charge $3.00/lb to wash and dry clothes. Sadly, some people get their nannies to do this for them for free.
