If kids are in my car, I charge EXTRA for that since the IRS doesn't not cover for that sort of severe wear and tear (food, drinks, mud, etc.)

No, IRS includes normal wear and tear by anyone, including kids.
Also, they have a much much lower rate if you are driving for a non-profit ($0.14/mile) or medical moving (serving as ambulance) ($0.23/mile).
I have always felt that the IRS maximum is very generous and IRS acknowledges it is the maximum that can be paid for reimbursement, before being considered income that can be taxed. (Otherwise people will say they are paying $50.00/mile to "reimburse" to make it tax-free salary.) It only exists so that people do not abuse it to get around paying tax.
