She is probably deducting FICA and paying all other state and federal taxes quarterly. No big deal. I would just ask - it's confusing to everyone but think you're fine.

Is it possible she had not been deducting the state taxes before now? I found state much harder to set up and understand than federal taxes.

So it is okay that she takes taxes out a month before the declared firts day of employment?

I just want to make sure that the past deduction will go to my fed, state, SS and etc.

You mean a month after you began work? That's fine, it sounds like PP said: she wants to do the right thing by you and is learning herself. You should always be responsible for your own bookkeeping, so definitely make sure totals add up, but what she's doing is a great help for you.

At the end of the day, what will matter is the W-2 she gives you next year. Keep your paystubs and make sure everything matches up at the end. If she isn't, request a running tally on your paystub (both weekly and year to date figures for salary paid and deductions taken). As long as the W-2 reflects your accurate wage, monies receive, and monies deducted, you will be ok. If it doesn't, you just request a corrected W-2 or file with the correct information. It sounds like your employer is trying to do the right thing but is perhaps learning as well!

OP here, so its okay that she already deducting me since July and yet she just hand me a W-4 to sign in August?
If the W-4 is to know how much she will deduct me, then how in the world she calculated my taxes in July. Plus, on the W4 says our first day of employment is August 10.

Sorry, too much questions.

Thank you.

She doesn't "deduct" you. She is deducting Fed, state, and FICA from your paycheck. You have a good employer.

Maybe she used the info on your federal forms to figure out the State taxes? The forms are very similar, but she should have asked you to fill out both federal and state before you started. She may be just realizing her mistake now.

Are you getting state and federal taxes deducted on your paycheck? Just wondering because I didn't realize I was only getting federal deducted and because I didn't pay quarterly on the state taxes since they didn't tell me to (she's an international employee so it has something to do with that although I don't fully understand), I owed the government a lot when I got my taxes done in April.
