I understand they get tons of responses, however they are actively searching for that special someone to care for their most prized possession(s).

They are expected to do their homework on who they are considering hiring. This should be a no-brainer.

Will you stop using this phrase!?!? It's just getting weird.

When you are doing the hiring you get to ask as many annoying questions as you like. It comes with the territory.

I had to go through 7 rounds of interviews to get the job I now hold. How many of those people carefully read my resume before talking to me? Maybe 1.

I carefully read the profile of anyone who submits a personalized response to an ad I placed.

If I get a generic response you go into my second tier pool (if that.)

If you respond to the specifics of what I said we're interested in, my kids' ages, etc... then I give your profile a careful read before I reply.

21:44 is exactly right in that this same problem happens on both sides. I'll never understand why either side doesn't bother to pay attention and respond specifically if they want to stand out or seem appealing.

MBs have to go through hundreds of profiles so yeah, we don't exactly read every single one thoroughly, but we do read. If you say such and such on your profile, a lot will read it, some won't. You should still put all the info on the profile for those who do take the time.

It is unrealistic to think that MBs will read every line of your profile and keep it straight between 5-50 potential candidates they are dealing with.

I've been having he same problem too.
I clearly state in my ad that I am available for weekends only. I ALWAYS have parents asking if I am available for after school and mornings.

I understand parents are flooded with responses to postings as it's a busy process. I have a detailed profile on a nanny site listing my experience for specific age groups. Recently I've been getting responses back from parents thanking me for my interest, and then asking what my availability is, experience with a kids their child's age, etc. It's a little frustrating and I'm wondering if parents aren't reading profiles anymore. The answers to their questions are easily shown on my profile. Sorry, just a little vent.
