So all children in academia should nap? Yes, sleep is critical but napping? Not so much.

Please don't do that.
What are we supposed to do? His school is 12:30 to 3PM - he will not nap before 12 and cannot nap after 3 or he won't sleep at night!"
Um - pick a school that works for your child's sleep schedule. I think most kids are not ready to be done with naps every day at that age. If it is a two afternoon a week program may it is not terrible but I still would not have done it. Oldest took 2 hour naps until 5. Youngest is 4 and generally naps each day still. Up at 6/6:30 and down at 8/8:30.

She wakes up at 8:30, sometimes later. Works great for us because I get to spend more time with her in the evening and go to bed when she does. At your kid's age, forcing no nap will be pretty tough both on you and him.
