I love them in proportion to how much I am allowed to by the parents. Some parents are really open to sharing their kids and others are threatened by it and put up walls. In the latter case, I find it hard to bond as deeply. My care of the children doesn't suffer, but it is definitely different. There are some charges that I would and have made great personal sacrifices for, but others are more of a job and I let go of the responsibility for them when I leave.

Yes, I do love every child I take care of.
I believe every child deserves to be loved by the close adults in their lives.

Yes. All children are a blessing and I feel honored to have been invited to help mold new young lives. I even love the obnoxious one, 90 percent of the time.

I loved my last charges. I haven't worked for them for years but I still seem them at least once or twice a month.

My charge is often obnoxious, unkind, difficult, and demanding. She is young so I know it's partly developmental. I don't love her but I feel very responsible for her well being and care a lot about her.

No I don't, I care deeply about them but I don't love them. Just like how I don't love my friends children . I want the best for them. But love seems a little much.

Yes, I love my current charge and my previous ones as well.

I hope to always be in touch with them as they grow up and to remain an important person in their life.

I have truly loved some of them but not all. The ones I don't love, I'm still quite fond of if that makes sense.

Why do you ask, OP?

I was just wondering if it was more than the way people say "I love kids" or "I love my job".

+1 Although I would give my life for my charge in a hot New York second. No question.

Yes, I do love my charge dearly. I have been with him since birth and am very bonded. He is two-years-old now and I am quite devoted to him - to his well-being and development. I go out of my way to do what is best for him, always.

And he is the cutest, sweetest boy in the world!
